My Twenty-Fifth Week of Pregnancy Update
Baby is the size of a: This week baby is the size of a rutabaga! I'll admit, I had to look that one up. I don't know where they come up with some of these fruit and veggie comparisons... Either way, that's about 13.5 inches and 1.5 pounds.
Total weight gain: Right around 15 pounds.
Maternity clothes: I sound like a broken record. But I need more. Seriously.
Stretch marks: I keep looking but I haven't found any yet! I don't know if I will be lucky as my gorgeous mother who has not a single one.. But I have already accepted the fact that my body is made to change in order to create space for the baby. If that means stretch marks, I'll take it.
Sleep: Sleep is my friend. I have been doing a little better through the night, save for the frequent bathroom breaks..
Exercise: Walking (either outside or on the treadmill at an incline and a fairly brisk pace), cycling with mild resistance, and stretching. I try to remind myself to do pelvic rotations regularly ... They definitely remind me that there is something in my tummy. It's crazy how certain positions can make you feel more aware of your body!
Miss anything: I miss being able to go several hours without peeing........
Movement: All the time. I love it. Jarad and I sometimes just lay in bed and stare at my stomach. I try to get videos but as soon as I bring my phone up the baby will stop moving... Which is mildly amusing. But, seriously, get it together, bean, I'm trying to show you off.
Food cravings: Sweets and ice cubes. But not just any ice cubes.. I like ice cubes only after they have been sitting in water for a while and their texture changes so they are, I don't know... softer? Either way, I basically am constantly filling up my water bottle with ice cubes and then staring at them until I can tell they've melted enough. I cant stop. So good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not lately! I have been getting headaches a little more frequently, lately, and that is a bummer. But luckily nothing is making my feel too queasy. In fact, I've gotten really good at eating basically anything. Maybe that's not a good thing - but I'm not complaining. However, when I took my test for gestational diabetes and they made me drink that nasty sweet stuff really fast, I definitely didn't like it. Bean wouldn't stop moving, either! Too much sugar for both of us!
Gender:
Labor signs: Not yet! My doctor explained Braxton Hicks contractions and told me to start "paying attention" to my uterus because now is the time for pre-term labor. So, hopefully that doesn't start happening too soon. The whole idea of Braxton Hicks contractions freaks me out.. Although it shouldn't since I'm so adamant about having an unmedicated labor.. Those should be easy!
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy and weepy. That's an interesting mix, let me tell you. I also just really want to hug and love on everyone. So let me..
Looking forward to: Seeing bean's precious sweet little face and fingers and toes. And still looking forward to labor, oddly enough as that sounds.
