My Thirty-Second Week of Pregnancy Update
Baby is the size of a: Large jicama! Which is right around 16.7 inches and 3.75 pounds. Baby Bean is growing, growing, growing!
Total weight gain: I believe around 23 pounds or so. I haven't stepped on a scale in a while, but that would be my guess!
Maternity clothes: Yes! Absolutely. Thank the dear, sweet, precious Lord for maternity clothes. I am doing my best not to go shopping-crazy and buy a bunch but it is very difficult considering how uncomfortable non-maternity clothes are. (Except for sweats. I love sweats).
Stretch marks: None so far. I am putting a really thick cocoa butter on every day after I shower, and sometimes extra if my tummy feels particularly itchy. It's hard to believe I still have two months (maybe less - fingers crossed!) left to grow. It is surreal to think I am going to continue getting bigger and rounder!
Sleep: I have been waking up in the middle of the night a LOT lately. Some nights it is very difficult to go back to sleep. Some nights I fall back to sleep immediately. This week I have been woken up from heartburn/gas pains in my chest and that always makes for an interesting night. And, of course, I have nights where I cant sleep because I'm too busy thinking about everything: labor, delivery, breastfeeding, my family visiting, diaper changes, the sleep I wont be getting. It's a long list.
Exercise: Honestly, not for a little while. I have been more physically drained than normal lately and have been using free time to take cat naps that I feel are more beneficial to the baby and I than walking on a treadmill for an hour. I do try and move actively throughout the day, but have not been setting aside time to go "work out." I don't feel bad about it!
Miss anything: Is it possible to miss something before it's gone yet? I have had several people ask me if I am ready for the baby to be here already. And while, yes, it would be nice to smother my child with love and hugs and kisses and see their face constantly, I'm not exactly ready to be done being pregnant. I am enjoying experiencing everything for the first time - this will be my ONLY "first" time being pregnant. Not to mention this is the absolute last bit of time I have with my wonderful husband before we are parents and our lives are forever different. I want to savor every minute I have with him, and every minute I have with this precious child in my belly.
Movement: Yes! And I have been giving belly-mapping a try and I am pretty certain about baby's position (head down, butt up, feet on my lower right side). It's fun to feel those baby feet in my side, even though, I'll admit, it is also sometimes extremely uncomfortable. Worth it. Also, the higher kicks in my ribs are starting to be fun, too. (That's sarcasm)/
Food cravings: Ice cubes still. I just discovered another bakery cafe (think Panera) by my house that has the best ice cubes like Chick-fil-A and Sonic. Pretty exciting stuff.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing in particular.. But I have been getting nauseous here and there. I've heard that sometimes morning sickness (Let's be real. All-day sickness) returns in the latter weeks of pregnancy. Hopefully that's not what this is.
Gender:
Labor signs: None, and I would like to keep it that way for at least five or six more weeks. Or, I don't know, all the way until my due date. That might be nice, too.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. I think. There were a couple days where I was feeling a little moody. But mostly happy now. Trying to enjoy it all.
Looking forward to: Decorating the nursery! We basically have everything we need for our little love (as far as the nursery goes), so now I am just looking forward to adding adorable little touches here and there! So exciting! Oh, and Thanksgiving. I'm looking forward to that, too.
