My Twenty-Eighth Week of Pregnancy Update
How far along: 28 Weeks.
Baby is the size of a: Chinese cabbage. I don't know how or if this is different from any other kind of cabbage. But Bean is the size of a cabbage nonetheless. That's about 14.8 inches and 2.25 pounds!
Total weight gain: About 19 pounds.
Maternity clothes: Yes please. I would like to live in maternity clothes and/or sweats at all times. Also, my beautiful friend Sarah was lovely and generous enough to lend me a few beautiful maternity shirts and a very comfortable pair of jeans. She is a complete and total God-send because those things are seriously so much more comfortable than anything else I have. I wear the belly-band with jeans regularly, but sometimes even that is uncomfortable. So having another pair of maternity jeans makes life a little easier on this still-growing mama.
Stretch marks: Sometimes I think I spy them, but it's just my imagination. I have gotten noticeably more veiny, though. That's weird.
Sleep: Sleep? Who needs sleep. Oh, wait, that's right... I do. I always need it and sometimes I am fortunate enough to get it. The other night, actually, I slept COMPLETELY through the night without getting up to pee a single time. It was so incredible. I was very impressed with both my bladder AND my Bean when I woke up. It's the little things, you know? But getting (and staying) comfortable has become more difficult unfortunately.
Exercise: Talking sweet little walks with my husband in the evenings, which always feels so glorious - especially with the nice, crisp fall weather lately - and then continuing my stretches. Nothing too fancy or extravagant. It's nice to go to the gym here and there but I genuinely prefer walking outside to stretch my legs and get some fresh air much more.
Miss anything: Can't think of anything in particular today - just enjoying my little love.
Movement: All the time. Still in love with it. Every now and again I have to give bean a stern "move to mommies other side, please!" but for the most part Bean just does whatever he/she wants. Which is sort of precious if you think about it. The movements are what give me a glimpse at our little bean's personality - and so, even though sometimes it is uncomfortable, it is always rewarding and exciting and special.
Food cravings: More ice cubes. I literally went to sonic JUST to get a drink so I could eat their ice cubes because they have the most perfect and awesome ice cubes of all time ever. Oh, and Chik-Fil-A, too. So yummy. I want it all. Ice all the time, please and thank you.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still no! It is awesome!
Gender: Baby.
Labor signs: None of that. And no Braxton Hicks yet, either. At least not to my knowledge. Is it weird I'm not excited about those?
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! And sleepy. Not feeling too moody lately though, truth be told, you'd probably have to ask my husband for a more accurate answer to this question.. Because I don't like to think of myself as a moody person! (Although I usually will admit when I've been sort of a butthole lately).
Looking forward to: Little fingers and toes. Especially since I'm fairly certain that Bean's feet are responsible for digging into my right side every day. I can't wait to kiss those little things! I am just really looking forward to holding our beautiful babybean, and I cant wait to see what he/she looks like and just revel in how perfect I know they are sure to be. So in love.
