My Thirty-Sixth Week of Pregnancy Update
Baby is the size of a: Our little Bean is the size of a Crenshaw Melon: approximately 18.75 inches and 5.75 pounds.
Total weight gain: At both my 35 and 36 week appointments I had gained 30 pounds even. I am curious to find out at my next appointment whether I have continued gaining weight or if I have stopped: apparently some women plateau at this point in their pregnancy.
Maternity clothes: At all times. Luckily, I have reached a point at my job where I am allowed to wear jeans instead of dress slacks because I am no longer in and out of the school. So I have been enjoying jeans and comfy, warm jackets lately. And as soon as I get home I change into sweats because, lets be honest, nothing beats how comfortable sweats are.
Stretch marks: I don't believe so. I keep looking but have yet to find any.
Sleep: Sleep is difficult. It escapes me every evening. It doesn't matter if I go to bed at eight or at midnight: chances are I will get the same amount of sleep. Which is minimal.
Exercise: Ummmm, no.
Miss anything: Just being able to effectively catch Z's...
Movement: Yes. Bean is still quite the little active baby! Sometimes more than others, and usually in the evenings quite a bit. Still camera-shy, though.
Food cravings: Not so much. Sometimes it's actually hard to find food that sound interesting or appetizing. It is hit or miss: especially since so many foods give me heartburn or acid reflux. I've found out that it works best if I don't eat for several hours before going to bed. But I hate that because I'm always hungry - especially since my ability to eat a lot has decreased and I now have to eat smaller meals. So midnight snacks always sound good, but leave me feeling not-so-good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing out of the ordinary.
Gender:
Labor signs: Braxton Hicks here and there, and some loss of my mucous plug: but very, very minimal. Nothing too crazy!
Happy or moody most of the time: Honestly, more tired than anything else. I feel very neutral lately, mood-wise.
Looking forward to: Meeting our little love. Any time now, Bean! We are ready for you!
