My Thirty-Fifth Week of Pregnancy Update
Baby is the size of a: Baby is the size of a Honeydew Melon! That's about 18 inches long and 5.25 pounds - but at our 35 week appointment my Midwife felt the baby from my tummy and guestimated that our Bean is around 5.5 pounds! She also said she doesn't think the baby will be big-big. Which, I admit, I am thankful for!
Total weight gain: Exactly 30 pounds.
Maternity clothes: Yes! And thank God for them.
Stretch marks: I cannot decipher, but I do not believe so. I am pretty liberal with my cocoa-butter-lathering, so maybe that's helping! We still have a few weeks left, though, so you never know!
Sleep: Not so good, unfortunately. I have started having either Braxton Hicks contractions or actual contractions, particularly overnight when I am trying to sleep. My stomach and lower back end up aching and waking me up OR I end up waking up because of insane nausea. I'm not excited about it!
Exercise: Squats! I got some weird looks from hubby the other day for utilizing the door knobs to assist in this exercise. He wasn't quite sure what I was doing. And I'm sure I looked like I didn't know what I was doing either!
Miss anything: Yes. I miss good sleep.
Movement: Definitely still have an active baby. Bean stays in the same place mostly so I am pretty accustomed to the movement that I do feel, and even notice a pattern. Surprisingly, the little one takes after me and gets an extra boost of energy at night time when it's time to go to sleep! I always have crazy belly movement around 9-10 at night. Sometimes, if I'm already asleep, it wakes me up!
Food cravings: Not lately.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Aside from the acid reflux, no.
Gender:
Labor signs: Do Braxton Hicks count? I know, if nothing else, this signals that we are getting much, much closer.
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly just sleepy, to be totally honest. And maybe sometimes sort of out of it. And also, if not one of those two, then definitely in a weird super-nesting mode where I have to clean and/or organize EVERYTHING. It's weird. I have no control over myself.
Looking forward to: Labor. Is that weird?
