My Eighteenth Week of Pregnancy Update
Baby is the size of a: Heirloom Tomato. Am I the only one who has absolutely no visual representation for that in my head? I just know regular tomato and cherry tomato. What is this mystical heirloom tomato? Whatever it is, it's approximately six inches, so, that's cool.
Total weight gain: Ten pounds!
Maternity clothes: Yes. Belly bands, and maternity jeans. Starting to seriously need some bigger shirts.
Stretch marks: Not a one!
Sleep: This week was odd. Half of the week I slept really well, and the other half not so much. I think that must just be one of the mysterious joys of pregnancy, though. You're never quite sure whether you're going to wake up rested or exhausted.. And every night is a guess on how many times I'm going to get up to pee. I'm almost always wrong.
Exercise: Treadmill! Fast-paced incline walking. And some light weight-lifting. Feels amazing and I can tell the bean is enjoying the endorphin booster!
Miss anything: Maybe just fitting into all my clothes. But that's about it. It would be nice not to struggle into jeans every day!
Movement: All the time! Especially after I eat. This week Jarad and I were blessed with the privilege of feeling bean's movements from the OUTSIDE - which has easily been one of the, if not the, most exciting things thus far because now Jarad can feel our baby move, too! We've got a little jumping bean on our hands! One morning I counted FORTY TWO kicks in a span of 10-15 minutes! And one evening while we were in bed I could feel the bean moving a bunch so I placed my hand on my tummy and got a few good kicks, and then I told Jarad to watch and the two of us sat in happy silence while we watched my tummy bump up and down every few seconds because babybean was giving us little love kicks. The best part is when Jarad put his lips on my tummy right where bean was kicking and waited patiently until bean finally gave him a few kicks! He proudly looked up at me and said, "The bean is kissing me back!"
Food cravings: Just more subway. I could literally eat it every day. Something about those fresh veggies (especially the onions, lets be honest) really gets my mouth watering and my tummy rumbling! And once my mind is made up about what I want I'm never quite satisfied after. I am currently craving a banana split................................................................
Anything making you queasy or sick: Barbecue smell... Like really thick heavy barbeque sauce. Gross. And of course the fridge, still. And the trashcan.
Gender: I'll never tell! ......................................... Because I have no idea. So, your guess is as good as mine!
Labor signs: Not a one!
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy! Although, I have to admit, I have been feeling "baby blues" a little bit lately. Mostly I just notice that I feel lonely whenever I am alone, and I miss my family a lot. Then I remind myself that I'm not alone, ever, so that makes things better!
Looking forward to: Baby's ultrasound next Friday! Eeeeep! Cant wait to see how big he/she has gotten in the last ten weeks!
